Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RedactOffline (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including users of the free tier and paid subscribers. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Description of the Service

RedactOffline is a browser-based document redaction tool. It allows users to open PDF files, identify sensitive content, apply redactions, and export sanitized documents. All document processing occurs locally in your browser; no document data is transmitted to our servers.

The Service is provided as-is and is subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice to registered users.

Accounts & Registration

A free tier is available without an account. Creating an account requires a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are used fraudulently, or are inactive for more than 24 consecutive months.

Acceptable Use

You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You may not use the Service to:

— Process documents you do not have the right to access or modify. — Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service. — Use automated tools to access the Service at a volume that disrupts normal operation. — Circumvent subscription limits or payment requirements through technical means. — Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person or organisation.

We do not review the content of documents you process, as they never leave your device. However, we reserve the right to terminate access if we receive credible evidence of unlawful use.

Subscriptions & Billing

The free tier is available indefinitely with the limitations described on our pricing page. Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, depending on the plan you choose.

All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes. You authorise us to charge your payment method on file at the start of each billing cycle. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to premium features until that date.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied within the first 14 days of your first paid billing period, contact us at [email protected] for a full refund.

Refunds are not available for renewals or for partial billing periods. We may make exceptions at our discretion in cases of documented billing errors.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its interface, design, and underlying code, is owned by RedactOffline and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to the documents you process. By using the Service, you do not grant us any licence over your document content. Because documents are processed locally, no content is ever transmitted to us.

Feedback, suggestions, or feature requests you share with us may be used by us without restriction or compensation.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Redaction results depend on the quality of the source document and the patterns you configure; you are responsible for verifying that your redacted output meets your requirements before use.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RedactOffline shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
